If you're a Grade 11 or Grade 12 student looking at the 2026-2027 school year, you’re in the right place. The "college application season" is like a marathon... you need to know the route before you start running.

Here’s your interactive guide to the biggest universities and scholarships in the Philippines.

The "Big Four" & Beyond: Application Dates

Most major universities open their portals a year before classes start. For the 2026-2027 intake, the "action" mostly happens in 2025 and early 2026.

Check your Grades! Most schools ask for your Grades 8 to 11 records. Make sure you have those ready and scanned!


The "Big Three" Scholarships

Don't let tuition fees scare you. These three are the "gold standard" for Filipino students.

1. DOST-SEI Undergraduate Scholarship

Best for: STEM lovers and those in the top 5% of Non-STEM classes.

  • Application Period: October - December 2025

  • Exam Date: February 21-22, 2026

  • Allowance: $P8,000$ per month + tuition assistance + book allowance.

2. CHED Merit Scholarship (CMSP)

Best for: High achievers (at least 93% GWA) with financial need.

  • Application Period: May - June 2026 (based on previous cycles)

  • Benefit: Up to $P120,000$ per year for private HEIs.

3. SM Foundation Scholarship

Best for: Public school graduates or private school students with vouchers.

  • Application Period: February 1 - February 28, 2026

  • Benefit: Full tuition + monthly stipend + summer job opportunities at SM!

Quick Checklist: Don't Get Left Behind

Before you hit "Submit," make sure you've ticked these off:

  • [ ] PSA Birth Certificate (Get a fresh copy!)

  • [ ] Certified True Copy of Grades (Form 137/138)

  • [ ] Parent’s ITR or Certificate of Indigency (Crucial for scholarships!)

  • [ ] 2x2 Photos (With white background and name tag)

  • [ ] A stable email address (Use a professional one: firstname.lastname@email.com)
